Meighan ‘went Cold’ At Winehouse Death News
Kasabian rocker Tom Meighan was frozen in shock when he learned Amy Winehouse had passed away, confessing he shed “a little tear” for his tragic friend.
The Rehab singer was found dead at her London home last week and the cause of her demise remains a mystery after initial post mortem results proved inconclusive.
Meighan admits he was left speechless by the sad news and felt compelled to show his compassion by arranging to have a bunch of flowers laid on a makeshift shrine outside her house.
He tells Music Week, “I was really shocked. My body went cold.
“I am just so sorry. I had a tear, a little tear. I was in shock. My body went cold. I sent over some flowers today to her shrine from Kasabian – where all those people are putting all flowers – a big bunch of flowers from us. I think that’s respectful. She was lovely, wasn’t she?”
But Meighan will always remember one fun night they spent hanging out together.
He says, “Before Back To Black came out we had a sing-song around hers… it was great, lovely memories. I was singing one of my songs and then she just sang and I was like, ‘Wow what a lovely voice!’ – just nice.”
